Position Summary

Located in North America's wind belt, Davenport proudly stands at the forefront of renewable electricity technology. Our factory works to do our part to care for the environment, like investing in renewable electricity, conserving water and maintaining zero waste for disposal. Since 1927, it has been home to one of our largest manufacturing facilities. Originally focused on cereal production, the factory transitioned to become a pet food-only manufacturer in the late '90s. Today, it holds the distinction of being the largest pet food manufacturing facility in the U.S. With utmost care, our dedicated team in Davenport produces, packages, and ships a wide range of our beloved brands including Dog Chow®, Puppy Chow®, Alpo®, Beneful®, Purina ONE®, Cat Chow®, Friskies®, and Kit N Kaboodle®.

Our Nestlé Needs You initiative combines finely tuned classroom education, professional mentoring, and practical work experience. As an Electrical Apprentice, you’ll work alongside experienced maintenance electricians to observe and participate in various projects to build your skill set. Receive coaching from your assigned mentor who will oversee your day-to-day workload and overall progress as they help connect the dots between your technical education and executing work on the factory floor.

  • Enroll in technical program chosen by the factory, attend classes, and complete assignments.
  • Provide electrical support for the safe installation, assembly, and repair of machines, safety systems, and associated parts.
  • Assist in troubleshooting electrical issues under the guidance of experienced technicians.
  • Support corporate and division Engineering and IT personnel with maintenance and installation of plant and corporate initiatives.
  • Adhere to all Safety and NPPC manufacturing systems guidelines.

Requirements

  • Must be willing to enroll full-time in a technical program for a certificate or degree in manufacturing technology

The approximate hourly pay for this position is $31.00. Please note that the pay provided is a good faith estimate for the position at the time of posting. Final compensation may vary based on factors including, but not limited to knowledge, skills, and abilities as well as geographic location.
